From cargo details to shipping options

A simple workflow to move from a shipment idea to an informed conversation with a provider.

Getting started · 3 min read

01. Define the route

Start with the origin and destination. Use a city, a port or an airport. If an estimate does not come back, a more precise location or port/airport code may help the search.

02. Measure the packed cargo

Choose the load type. Add the number of units and gross weight per unit in kilograms. For boxes, pallets and crates, also add the packed length, width and height in centimetres. Use separate searches for mixed sizes.

03. Compare the ranges

Cargo.it sends the route and measurements to Freightos. Available results show total shipment cost ranges and estimated transit days. Availability varies by route and mode; an empty result does not mean the shipment is impossible.

04. Confirm the full service

Open Freightos from the results and request a full quote. Discuss cargo acceptance, collection and delivery points, surcharges and dates. Booking and payment take place with the external provider.

This guide explains the Cargo.it planning workflow. Confirm your shipment-specific service and requirements with your chosen provider.
